Things We Love About Christmas…

cooleswan, Dec 23, 2016

You mean apart from everything??  Christmas at the Coole Swan farm is like a nativity scene with new lambs everywhere!! Our  little lambs usually start to arrive on Christmas Eve (we know, fitting right?)…those midnight trips to the lambing shed are our favourite…the shed is warm and quiet with just the sound of ewes breathing… Philip  has been known to bring a hip flask of Coole Swan with him to keep him (and the ladies) company…

It’s the one dinner we love because unlike dinner on the other 364 days of the year there are no deadlines to meet or calls to take and even the cows and sheep and dogs do not look for attention…so it will be Coole Swan aprons on and all the traditional trimmings…… including the Coole Swan Raspberry and Chocolate Pavlova made by the girls. They’ll go far, we tell you!

From January to December 24th family are scattered all over the place, from Edinburgh to Melbourne to Tennessee to just down the road in the next town. But come 25th December, we love to gather under one roof to hear all the news. You can always rely on a cousin to have ‘aced’ their exams or an uncle to have bought a new motorbike….but we love them all the same.

As if getting everyone together under one roof isn’t good enough, we love to add a splash of Coole Swan to the celebration and then the toasts start ….Uncle Seamus never knows when to stop bless him….But there’s nothing that says happy better than a glass of Coole Swan.

A very Happy Christmas from Mary, Philip, Ruth, Laura, Katie and the whole Coole Swan Team
